World Poetry Collective Submission Guidelines (2024)

Welcome to the World Poetry Collective! We’re excited to read your work and provide a platform where poets from all over the world can share their art. Please review the following guidelines carefully before submitting your poems.

1. Submission Categories

• General Submissions: We accept poems in any form, theme, and style, provided they fit our mission to inspire, heal, and resonate with readers.
• Poets of a New Generation: We have a hardcover poetry collection featuring community members releasing soon! If you’d like to be featured and see your words in print, indicate “New Generation Poet” in the subject line of your email.
• Emerging Poets Submissions: We encourage submissions from new or emerging poets. If you have fewer than 2 published pieces, indicate “Emerging Poet” in the subject line of your email.

2. Submission Guidelines

• Number of Poems: You may submit up to 3 poems per submission. Each poem should be no more than 100 lines in length.
• Format: All submissions should be submitted through the Poetry Submission Box always. Please ensure the poems are formatted correctly prior to submission.
• Original Work: All submissions must be your original work. We do not accept previously published poems, whether online or in print.
• Simultaneous Submissions: We accept simultaneous submissions, but please notify us immediately if your poem is accepted elsewhere.

3. How to Submit

• Visit the WPC Poetry Submission Box.
• Include a brief bio letter introducing yourself, your work, and any prior publication credits (if applicable). Keep this under 150 words.
• Attach your poems as separate documents in the format mentioned above.

4. Response Time

• Our editors work diligently to review all submissions. You can expect a response within 1-3 days. If you haven’t heard from us after 8 weeks, feel free to follow up.

5. Compensation

• Accepted poets will receive a featured spot on the website along with promotion across our social media platforms. We do not offer monetary compensation at this time, but our community and exposure are designed to elevate your voice.
• For Poets of a New Generation, selected poems will be part of a published anthology, and poets will receive a complimentary digital copy.

6. Publication Rights

• By submitting your work, you agree to grant World Poetry Collective first publishing rights. After publication, all rights revert to the author, though we ask for the right to keep your work in our archives.
• If you choose to republish your poem elsewhere, please credit World Poetry Collective as the original publisher.

7. Community Involvement

• We encourage all submitters to engage with the WPC community by joining our membership community and following us on social media. Stay connected to learn about future submission opportunities, workshops, and poetry events.
