In June 2024, I made a promise to myself and to every writer I’d yet to meet:
To build the most powerful and fulfilling literary organization in the world.
No compromises. No gatekeeping. No outdated models.
Simply one resolute truth:
Poetry holds significance.
Moreover, poets are entitled to a platform that acknowledges their work not merely as a hobby, but as an ongoing legacy. Consequently, I abandoned all other pursuits and dedicated my resources to establishing WPC. What began as a solitary passion project has evolved into a full-time, rapidly expanding organization—and a sanctuary for poets who aspire to greater heights.
I didn’t start World Poetry Collective because I had all the answers—I started it because I had one deep, undeniable truth in my heart: poetry has the power to heal people and change the course of things. I saw too many poets—brilliant, sincere, devoted—writing in silence, waiting for someone else to tell them they mattered. And I realized something important: the world doesn’t need more gatekeepers. It needs more believers. That became my mission. To build a space where poetry isn’t treated like an afterthought, but like the lifeblood of culture it truly is. WPC grew from that belief, one poem, one connection, one breakthrough at a time. And as I watched it bloom, I learned that the most revolutionary thing we can do as writers is to lift each other up. That’s what this is. A collective of voices strong enough to shift the world. And if you’ve ever felt that your words carry weight—you’re already one of us.
