If I surrender my nakedness to you,
will you look upon my skin with eyes ablaze
or with a tenderness that wants to know every part of
my soul?
Would you drape my body with sin?
Within the complexities of nakedness, intimacy is the ship
that needs to feel safe
in the arbor of arms that know how to hold a naked soul.
If handled correctly, its sails will unfold freely as you
take it into your ocean, however deep that may be.
I am not a fish out of water or afraid of the dark,
but my nakedness, I do not easily surrender.
Too many have plundered my heart, and it still bears the scars.

I am Maggie Watson, an Indie Author and Poet based in
Scotland.
My writing journey began in 2020 at the start of the pandemic.
In December 2020, a publishing house released “The Madness of Corona” (my work).
In 2021, I self-published my first collection, “Me and my Shadow” and “Once Upon a Time”.
Looking back, I was more interested
in the achievement factor than
concentrating on my writing!
Fast forward to now (2024), I am far prouder
of my work now, and I have my fellow writers
on WP to thank for that, plus my time spent on IG.
My muse is anything that pops into my head basically,
though I do draw a lot on my life experiences.
Edge of Humanity, Spillwords, Harness, Glass Gates Publishing and Gypsophilazine have all published my work.
My work has been in three anthologies, and I have another three
collections of poetry self-published by myself.
I cannot imagine not writing now!
